Maria Angelica scarf
This design is Maria Angelica is named after one of the sisters who lived in the house on Rua Mello Mexia in Arraiolos, home to the residency. Inspired by another of the children’s drawings from the 1930s found in the house’s archive, it celebrates the simplicity and joy of early creativity.
The original drawing, a delicate study in pattern and colour, became the foundation for a series of playful explorations — multiple variations on colour layout, balancing soft pastels and bright pops. Soft pinks and light blues dominate, with lively touches of green, while a single motif repeats and dances across the silk, creating a whimsical and joyful design.
